There were 4,726 students enrolled in Accomack County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.1% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Accomack County comprised 51.4% boys, with girls representing the remaining 48.6%.

Data also showed that Black or African American students made up 36.8% of the student body, the largest percentage in Accomack County schools, followed by white students with 35%, 24.6% Hispanic students and 0.8% Asian students.

Arcadia High School had the highest enrollment among Accomack County's 11 schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 695 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
