WASHINGTON, DC: On May 26, Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02) released the following statement in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, 2023. 

“As Americans across the country spend time with family and friends this weekend, I want to encourage them to take a moment to reflect on what Memorial Day means to millions of people across the country,” said Congresswoman Kiggans. “The countless heroes who have died fighting for our great nation willingly gave their lives so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear. We owe them, and their families, an eternal debt of gratitude that we will never be able to repay.” 

Congresswoman Kiggans also released the following video message:

On Thursday morning, Congresswoman Kiggans joined a bipartisan coalition of Members of Congress to wash the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC and pay their respects to the fallen. Congresswoman Kiggans’ father is a Vietnam War Army Green Beret combat veteran.
