5.3% of Northampton County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Northampton County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 277 people out of the 12,226 living in Northampton County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Northampton County has increased compared to the 4.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Northampton County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 4,965 people who had a job during that time, 11 were employed in the Armed Forces and 4,954 belonged to the civilian labor force.
