Census Bureau: 79.2% of people in Accomack County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 33,388 citizens living in Accomack County in 2021, 79.2% were old enough to vote, equating to 26,439 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 12,739 were male, constituting 48.2%, and 13,700 were female, making up 51.8%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Accomack County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.9%.
