Riverside Gastroenterology Specialists Williamsburg welcomes Shweta N. Joshi, M.D., a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who has practiced for more than 10 years. She completed her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine before her residency and fellowship training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Joshi enjoys the intellectual challenge of helping patients navigate gastrointestinal problems. She believes in a collaborative treatment approach that involves active listening and creating an environment where patients feel comfortable to discuss any and all issues. She chose to pursue gastroenterology because it provides her the unique opportunity to make a difference in patients’ lives in a variety of ways, including cancer prevention and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
With a particular interest in women’s health, Dr. Joshi is skilled at diagnosing and treating many esophageal, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine and colon conditions. She also performs gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
Dr. Joshi is married with two young children. She enjoys traveling and participating in adventurous activities such as white water rafting, hang gliding and skydiving. She is fluent in Kannada and can also communicate in Hindi.
