Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge issued the following announcement on Feb. 27
On Wednesday, March 2 the area south of the Beach Parking lots (a.k.a the South Over-Sand Vehicle Zone) will be closed to all access from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a sounding rocket launch. If the launch is rescheduled for Thursday, March 3, this closure will occur in the same area and timeframe.
