Northampton County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 26

Thank you to all that attended our Annual General Membership Meeting on February 23, which was sponsored by Rocket Lab USA . There were 57 chamber members in attendance. 

Angie Abell, Dustin Mears, Jeannie Rose, and Cynthia Wilder were presented to the membership and to serve 3-year terms on the Board of Directors and Austin Brodin was presented to serve a 2-year term to fulfill a board vacancy. 

Aaron Kuipers, Program Manager for Launch Complex 2, Rocket Lab USA, presented on the the organization’s mission, history, and exciting new projects and future opportunities here in Wallops Island. Rocket Lab was founded in 2006 and in 2018 Wallops Flight Facility was selected as the location of Rocket Lab Launch Complex 2. Since its founding, over 100 satellites have been deployed to orbit for customers across commercial, civil, defense and academic sectors.

Mike Winterhalter, Account Manager, Lunar Cow Publishing, presented on the Chamber's new interactive GoGuide and iMap technologies. The GoGuide is designed to enhance the users' experience while utilizing the 2022 Visitor's Guide & Membership Directory. The iMap is a mobile interactive technology that allows users to plan their trips, build itineraries, access calendars of events and get turn-by-turn directions while accessing points of interest data from chamber businesses.

Evelyn Shotwell, Executive Director, Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce and Certified Visitor Center, presented an overview of the chamber's 2021 Annual Report, which is available at chincoteaguechamber.com/chamber. 

Joanne Moore, Marketing & Event Coordinator, Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, presented the chamber's 2022 overview and upcoming events.
