Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Event: Christmas Tree Village & Gathering of the Gnomes
Date(s) - December 9, 2021
Time: 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Museum of Chincoteague Island’s Christmas Tree Village will be returning this year to the Museum’s Legacy Pavilion. This event will again feature the Gathering of Island Gnomes in the Museum courtyard along with an online auction to benefit the Museum. The decorated trees will be donated by Island families and businesses and be on display in the Pavilion on December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. While admission is free, visitors will be able to purchase chances to vote for their favorite tree. Votes are $1 each or $20 for 25 votes. A winner will be declared on the last night of the event. Make sure to bring your camera for photo ops with Santa and Mrs. Clause too!
The Museum will also be featuring an online auction this year through their BetterUnite site (look for a link on their Facebook page) to connect to the auction. All proceeds go to the Museum of Chincoteague Island and its programs.
Those wishing to donate a tree for the event should contact the Museum of Chincoteague Island at 757-336-6117, museumofci@gmail.com, or stop by the museum for the rules and a registration form. There is no place like Gnome for the holidays so plan to see the Museum of Chincoteague Island’s Christmas Tree Village and Gathering of Island Gnomes this December.
