Annual Poker Run for the Kids on September 11, 2021

2021

Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce and Certified Visitor Center recently issued the following announcement.

Date/Time:

Date(s) - September 11, 2021

11:00 am - 9:00 pm

Details:

The Chincoteague Police Department can’t wait to see you on September 11th for their 17th Annual Poker Run for the Kids!

Registration is available at the Police Department or you can print a registration form online. Ride route will be announced soon. Lots of great items are being donated for the auction that will be held under the pavilion in Robert Reed Downtown Waterfront Park. The auction starts just before the Block Party.

Speaking of Block Party, get ready! Front Page News Band returns to Main Street for a “dancing in the street” good time!

The Chincoteague Police Department serves the Community with the Poker Run & Block Party in September, and the Toy Run in December. All proceeds from these events go to Scholarships for Local High School Seniors, feeding less fortunate families year round, and help families with toys, clothing and food at Christmas time. The Chincoteague Police Department saw the need for these issues, and started the first Poker Run in 2005 to help make these needs come to life. Now this event has become a staple on Chincoteague. We encourage you to come out and enjoy the celebrations, as every person that participates, helps. Every year we have numerous donations from visitors and locals. If you would like to donate toys, clothing or gift cards, please feel free to drop these items off at the Chincoteague Police Department at 6150 Community Drive on Chincoteague Island. Thank you to all who have supported, and continue to support our efforts.
