Riverside has established a Lung Nodule Clinic that streamlines access for patients with documented lung nodules to be seen on an urgent basis for evaluation by a Riverside pulmonologist.
When lung nodules are detected in a Low Dose CT screening for lung cancer or found incidentally in another diagnostic study, our radiologists will place a recommendation in the diagnostic report for an expedited referral to the Lung Nodule Clinic. Patients are then seen promptly for evaluation, and if needed treatment. Not every lung nodule is cancerous, but if cancer is found, the earlier it can be detected, the easier it is to treat.
