AIRPORT TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE, YOUTH RALLY

On Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., an Airport Open House and Young Eagles Rally will be held at the Danville Regional Airport. Averett University’s flight instructors and pilots from Virginia and North Carolina will complete free plane rides for children ages 8 to 17.Parents can register their child to complete a flight; however, walk-ins are also welcome. Visit www.youngeaglesday.org to register.Airport Open House activities include tours of airport facilities, including the Operations Tower and the newly renovated terminal building. In addition, those attending can experience the Danville Science Center’s StarLab and enjoy a star filled night and flight into space aboard the Orion Spacecraft.There is no charge to attend the open house and free refreshments will be provided to the public. This event could be impacted by weather.
